Because of incorrect posture, lack of activity, or extreme exercising, muscle pain and injuries are common occurrences. The need for physical therapy is growing, increasing the need for physical therapists across the country.
The physical therapy industry is showing strong growth. Over 75 million baby boomers are starting to get older, increasing the demand for healthcare and specialized services like physical therapy. New programs are being offered for students looking to earn their degree in physical therapy. The board of regents in one state even approved an MD program.
Physical Therapy: From the Inside Out
Physical therapy is about strengthening the body from the inside out, and it's more than simple exercises. These are some physical therapy and fitness techniques that focus on increasing strength:
- Core fitness
- Lumbar stabilization
- Pilates
- Tai Chi
The pelvis, spine, abs, and lumbar muscles must be exercised so they can work together. A degree in physical therapy will give you the expertise you need to start offering relief to patients.
A Degree in Physical Therapy
You can earn a degree in physical therapy in a variety of ways. You can attend an on-campus degree program, working with other students and professors to earn your degree. You can also take a certification course, enabling you to work as a physical therapist. In addition, you can earn your degree or take a certification course online.
An online physical therapy degree program will involve the same course materials as an on-campus program. It can be more convenient to earn your degree online, and an online physical therapy degree usually comes with the same accreditation as an on-campus degree.
