Do you love to work out? With growing demand for fitness trainers, you can turn your passion for fitness into a satisfying and lucrative career.

A Career in Personal Training

Fitness trainers have the opportunity to be active and teach others to do the same. As a personal trainer, not only will you be on the move, but you also get the satisfaction of working with people individually and guiding their progress.

Your tasks will include:
  • Assessing the fitness level of your client
  • Setting fitness goals
  • Creating a workout and sometimes a diet plan
  • Teaching effective exercise methods
  • Recording and monitoring progress

Train for Personal Training

Most successful fitness trainers are certified through one of many organizations. If you're looking to get certified, a personal training course is an excellent place to start.

Through a personal training program, you will learn the basics of weight lifting, cardiovascular exercise, anatomy, and nutrition. While there may be many certifying agencies, they all have one thing in common: you must be well versed in CPR and first aid to be qualified.

Personal trainers are able to effectively tailor training for individual needs, so be sure to get plenty of hands-on experience incorporated in your program.

Fitness Trainer Jobs

While dieting fads come and go, there is constant demand for fitness trainers. In fact, according to the US Department of Labor, the growth rate for fitness trainer jobs will be faster than average through the year 2012.

With such high demand, the time is now to start training; soon you'll be able to turn your passion for fitness into a profitable career.
